I don't think that "Ben Affleck's stock has gone way down in the past few years" is a particularly outrageous or controversial statement. There was the whole J-Lo incident, an unfortunate affair which I'm still trying to erase from the depths of my subconscious. There's the string of poor film choices - it's been a year, I think it's safe to say Gigli now - capped by his most recent performance in Surviving Christmas, a holiday film so questionable in quality it had to be released in OCTOBER. And who could forget the moment when it was clear Ben's dignity had sunk lower than a post-ALCS Yankees fan: the day he signed a $1.5 million contract with L'Oreal to pimp haircare.

Ben's gone from Oscar-winning golden boy to gossip rag whipping boy. Matt Damon's probably tired of saying "ok, I'll ask them if they have a part for you, but this is the last time!" AND YET HE'S DATING JENNIFER GARNER!!! They were most recently spotted cozily discussing the mechanics of the knuckleball during the World Series last weekend. How? HOW? She seems like a smart, sweet, talented girl with a bright future - and she spent multiple hours with him while he was wearing that ridiculous Daredevil costume! The whole thing is mind-boggling. At least that shampoo commercial is funny.
